If you are new to shampoo bars, you might be wondering how to get started. They look simple enough, but using one correctly can make all the difference. This not only affects how your hair feels but also how long the bar lasts.
At Botanical Skincare Lab, we offer just one shampoo bar: the Australian Pink Clay Shampoo Bar. It is soft, balanced, and suitable for most hair types. Whether your hair is fine, dry, curly, or somewhere in between, this bar provides a clean wash without plastic packaging or harsh foaming agents.
How to Use the Australian Pink Clay Shampoo Bar
Here is how to use it for the best results.
Step One: Wet Your Hair Well
Start by thoroughly wetting your hair. This helps the bar glide more easily and allows it to lather better. Lukewarm water is ideal. Water that is too hot can dry out your scalp.
Step Two: Lather the Bar in Your Hands or Directly on Your Scalp
You have two choices here:
Rub the bar between your hands to create a light lather, then apply that to your scalp.
Gently rub the bar directly at the roots of your hair a few times.
For most people, the second option is easier and uses less product. Avoid scrubbing. Just a few passes at the roots are enough.
Step Three: Massage Gently with Your Fingertips
Use your fingertips, not your nails, to massage the lather through your scalp. Focus on the roots and the areas that tend to get oiliest. You do not need to shampoo the lengths. As you rinse, the product will move through the rest of your hair and clean it gently.
Step Four: Rinse Thoroughly
Rinse with clean water until it feels like no residue remains. If you have thicker hair or have used styling products, you might want to repeat the process.
Step Five: Follow with Conditioner if Needed
If your hair tends to be dry or long, follow up with your regular conditioner or leave-in treatment. Many customers find they need less conditioner once they switch to our shampoo bar because it does not strip the hair.
Tips for Storage and Care
To get the most out of your bar:
Let it dry between uses by storing it on a soap dish or bamboo rack.
Avoid leaving it in pooled water or a closed container while wet.
If it breaks or becomes soft, pop the pieces into a soap saver bag and use it as a gentle exfoliator.
Customer Feedback
Our customers have taught us as much as we have taught them. @what_mumma_thinks shared:
“Just a note. I have shoulder-length hair and I wash my hair every other day. I only rub the bar on my roots, lather, and then let the shampoo run down my hair and do its own thing. My hair feels and looks healthy, soft, and shiny.”
And from our wholesale stockist @replenishrefill:
“I absolutely love Botanical Skincare Lab’s Australian Pink Clay Shampoo Bar. It is perfect for travelling and lasts me more than 6 months. Would highly recommend.
