SCULPTURAL OBJECT STUDY · HERVEY BAY, AUSTRALIA

Monolith Study 1

It resists form. That’s exactly what gives it presence.

A sculptural series objects exploring form, weight and mineral movement.

Monolith No. 1 sculptural vase in sand vein mineral composite with soft marbled veining, handcrafted in Australia

A sculptural object.  Made to hold its place.

MONOLITH STUDY. 1

The Object

Each Monolith is formed as a singular volume.

There are no applied surfaces, no decorative finishes.
Only the interaction between material, pigment, and process.

Subtle marbling and tonal variation occur naturally during casting.
No two pieces resolve the same.

THE COLLECTION

Available Works

Monolith Study 1 is produced in small, evolving batches.

Future iterations explore new tones and surface variations, while maintaining the same underlying form.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

Material & Process

Each piece is resolved through a process of casting, sanding, and refinement.

01

Each piece is hand-cast, then refined and sealed in the studio.

02

The final surface is not polished to perfection.

03

It retains subtle evidence of its making.

This is an ongoing study, not a finished collection.

THE MAKER

Made by hand. Always.

I’ve been making objects for as long as I can remember. Not because I had to, but because I can’t imagine not doing it.

Each piece begins as a simple form, then evolves through casting, where colour and material move in ways I can’t fully predict. That moment still feels new every time.

I want these pieces to feel lasting. Something you return to. Something that holds its place in a space, quietly becoming part of it.

No factory could make what I make. That’s the point.
